The Dalhousie University AAPG Student Chapter comprises the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists student groups. We are located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and are based in the Earth Science Department of the Life Sciences Centre.
Student members of the AAPG and CSPG are eligible for scholarships and awards at undergraduate and graduate level (see Scholarships link for more infomation). The student chapter program is made up of university and college groups of geoscience students, with over 245 chapters globally. The program encourages the development of leadership skills and professionalism, and provides opportunities for students to meet and network with industry representatives. We are also granted access to AAPG publications, distinguished lecture series, funding for field trips, and student events. The Dalhousie chapter is run by students and supported by department and adjunct faculty. Funding is from several sources including the AAPG, CSPG, and donations.
